Savannah is now running everywhere. She took her first steps in October. It didn’t take long for her to go from wabbly walking to running. She’s got eight teeth and is a hungry little monster most of the time. She’s starting to limit what she eats right now, but it’s still not a bad diet. She LOVES her veggies! Give her some peas or carrots and she’s a very happy little girl. She’s starting to limit her meat selection, but doesn’t eat a lot of sweets so we can’t complain. She still mostly babbles, but a few words come out from time to time. She has said something close to “mama,” but of course hasn’t said it around me yet. Her favorite word is still “dada.”

Savannah had her first time out in the snow. She laughed while she was standing out in the snow, but wouldn’t move her feet. She liked watching big brother run around trying to get her to move. One of her favorite things to do is climb on top of her toy chest. She likes to put a toy or two on top, then get on with the toys.

Andruw is at the end of his hockey season now. This weekend is his home tournament. Grandma and Grandpa are coming to see Andruw play (he’s sooooo excited!). We have had a lot of fun traveling with his hockey, but I’m ready for a break. We have traveled to Mitchell, SD; Casper, WY; Gillette, WY and Worthington, MN. During the tournament in Gillette, Andruw scored his first goals as a travel player. He ended up with two hat tricks by the end of the tournament and his team placed first!

Scouts is also going well. I became a den leader and it’s been a lot of fun working (and playing) with the boys. All of Andruw’s den members have already earned their Wolf badge. That’s the main goal for the year. This gives us the rest of the school year to work on more fun activities and extra awards for the boys. I’ll be den leader again next year!

This is the brief version of all the things I could think of off the top of my head as I sit here on a break from cleaning the house. I’ll try and keep things up to date better and get more pictures up!

Andruw crossed over last night with boyscouts. He’s no longer a Tiger Cub. Now he is a Wolf! He’s excited about advancing to the next level. I am going to be helping to co-lead Andruw’s den next year. Looking at the book for next year, we will have a whole lot of fun things to accomplish so he can earn his Wolf Badge!

We have a few activities for this summer as well. We will be marching up Crazy Horse, getting a day at the local waterslides, visiting Rushmore Cave and camping out with the other families in his pack (let’s hope Savannah cooperates for that one). Savannah will be closer to being a year old by then, so hopefully it won’t be too stressful of a campout (at least it’s only one night if it is). I’ll post pictures of Andruw crossing over in the next few days!

It’s hard to believe how quick she’s growing up!

She’s not far from cruising the furniture. She pulls herself up almost effortlessly on the coffee table and her crib! She’s able to hold on with only one hand and shake a toy with the other without falling down. It won’t be long until she’s follow Andruw around the house!

She also finally made it to her feet while pulling up on the furniture. She’s been pulling up onto her knees for a while now, but until today she couldn’t quite get those feet underneath. She’s done it twice so far today! It’s just a matter of time until she’s cruising and then walking!

She’s already crawling everywhere. Anything on her level is fair game unless you keep a close eye on her. Her favorite things to chase down are the dogs and Daddy’s computer cords. That mouse cord drapped down from his laptop is a movement motivator! Andruw is still loving his sister and loving playing with her! He’s a great help entertaining her when I have to make dinner or do some laundry. She just lights up when she sees her big brother!

She can be sneaky about her moving though… waiting until you’re not watching then moving 6 inches or more! She was actually up on her hands and knees though on Sunday. The few steps came while trying to get to Luxor’s moving tail. She made about 3 before she fell down. She’s getting up on her hands and knees more often now.

Andruw got to race his derby car again at the Scout-a-rama this past weekend. He placed 13th out of 28 in his Tiger group. He did great and we are very proud of him and the work he did on his car. Unfortunately, some of the cars didn’t look like they were made by 1st graders (I think some dad’s overly helped). Andruw was a great sport though and was proud of his car and how he did!

Andruw can’t wait until he can build another car to race again next year!

It’s been a while since the last Savannah update. At her six month checkup, Savannah weighed in at 15 lbs 6 oz and was 27″ tall. She’s in the 90th percentile in height and 50th percentile for weight and head size. She’s definately getting bigger all the time. She’s grown out of almost all her one piece 6-9 month PJ’s. At least the two piece outfits still fit!

She’s rolling around like crazy. She can get across the room if she wants something on the other side. She’s starting to drag herself short bits. It won’t be long until she’s crawling! She can sit up without help. She falls over if she gets too excited though! She’s eating all sorts of fruits and veggies. She likes the veggies best: green beans and peas are the favorites! She likes playing in her walker. She’s getting better at moving forward, not just backwards. We have to make sure things are out of reach on the tables. She hasn’t figured out how to move one foot at a time yet though. Still doing the push and scoot for now.
Andruw is the greatest big brother! Savannah smiles everytime she sees him! He loves making her smile when she’s crying. He’s sat with her in the back of the car squeaking a toy to make her smile. (She loves toys that squeak.) He helps entertain her when I’m getting dinner ready, doing dishes, or any other chores.

Andruw’s team played their hearts out at the tournament in Gillette, WY. Unfortunately it didn’t amount up to a win for them, but it was a great experience for all who played! The other teams they played were travel leagues and had been playing longer together. They learned what it was to be a team and to fight for the puck. There was a difference from the first game they played to the last. They started to be a little more aggressive about getting and keeping the puck instead of waiting for it to get to them. They skated faster and harder too!

Andruw had to spend some time in the penalty box one of the games because one of the coaches put too many players on the ice. Andruw took it well. He was confused about why he was in there, but took it well when it was explained to him. He even offered to go in if that mistake was made again, so no one else would feel bad.

This season is over, but he has the opportunity to participate in a hockey camp over the summer. Until then…

Andruw worked hard to get his car ready for his Pack Derby Race. Great Grandpa helped him carve the shape while we were down for Christmas. He picked out a Hotwheels car he wanted his to look like. It took him several days to paint all the layers. He picked out a paint kit and a decal kit to decorate his car. He went with red and black with Dragon decals. These named his car the Dragonfire and his car number 5.

All his hard work paid off. He won first place for the Tiger cubs in his Pack. He won a little trophy for winning and he gets to race his car against other Tiger cubs in our counsil area during the Scout-a-rama in April. I’ll post the results of this big event when it happens!
